5 Comfy and Fun Spring Outfits
/Hey, my fearless readers! I hope you and your family are staying safe and prayed up. This year, I decided to really discover my personal style. It has changed a lot since I started college and now that I’m going into my last year, I wanted to have a more mature, yet fun style. I know we’re all stuck in quarantine, but I purposefully chose outfits that could also be worn around the house. I put links to some of the items under the photos (some of the exact product and some of similar items), so if you’re interested, look into that.
I found this blazer on ThredUp and I bought it with the intention of making it a dress, but after I tried it on, there was no way I was changing it. It has Neo from The Matrix vibes and really elevated this simple crop top and biker shorts combo.
I’ve been loving headbands lately and I recently got this one from Urban Outfitters. I don’t usually wear a lot of jewelry, so headbands really help to add a little dazzle to my outfits.
Lastly, I paired my trusty chunky white sneaks with this outfit because they go with everything.
2. I LOVE jumpsuits. It’s one piece of clothing, but somehow, wearing a jumpsuit makes you look so put together. This jumpsuit has certainly seen the world (I wore it all the way in Israel) and is super comfy!
These heels are some of my favorite shoes. I even have them showcased in my room. That’s how much I love them. They are the mullet of shoes—business in the front, party in the back. The open back really allows these shoes to be worn year-round without looking too “internship”. As a short girl, I really love the pointed toe because they make me look much taller. The block heel is really the star of this shoe though. Sometimes I want the height of a heel but the comfort of a sneaker and the block heel achieves that for me.
I again paired the oufit with a headband which was a gift from my Nanny. Especially during a time when hair salons are closed, headbands are a serious lifesaver.
3. Ok guys, mom jeans are back in! Sorry, I don’t make the rules. Another thrifted gem—these jeans are admittedly a little too big for me, but they are unbelievably comfortable. I love the high rise and you wouldn’t know because of how soft they are, but these jeans are 100% cotton. Recently, I’ve only been buying stiff denim jeans so that they last. The lower the percentage of cotton, the shorter the life of the jeans. Sustainability sis!
Invest in a good white tank if you can, because as you can see, it’s very versatile. Spring, especially, is the time to bring out the white tops!
These mules are a fave of mine. Mules aren’t always the most comfy, but these shoes have been with me for a while and I have no complaints. The gold detail on the front adds a little extra to the outfit.
Ok, yes, maybe I do have a headband problem. And what about it? This orange headband is adorable and I love wearing it to make my hair look cute without putting in much effort.
And last, but not least, BLAZERS!!! Blazers are a staple in my wardrobe. Throw this over any pair of pants and you automatically look like a fashionista.
4. Ok, I remember when I got these pants, my mom kind of looked at me like I was crazy, but these pants are wonderful. Not only are they super comfy and breathable, they kind of go with everything. Maybe not everything, but a lot more than you would think. I’m not a huge multi-color person, but the different colors in the flower detailing give me at least four colors to choose from for my top, while the overall navy color keeps it somewhat subdued.
This top is another staple. I wear it with jeans, under overalls, and with flowy pants. It’s one of those things that never goes out of style.
Funny enough, I got these shoes for a sorority event and thought I would never wear them again, but they are perfect for spring. Similar to the ASOS heels I mentioned earlier, these shoes are closed in the front but open in the back, making them really useful.
5. My favorite part about this outfit has to be the shoes. The reptilian look is very much in right now and I got these thrifted shoes for a steal! The chunky heel is so cute and makes them very easy to walk in.
These jeans are also thrifted and 100% cotton. If I’m honest, they’re probably my least comfortable pair of jeans, but they’re fashionable so I make it work. The things we do in the name of fashion!
My mom got me this sweater for Christmas and I always feel like an East Coast preppy queen in it. Its knitted design is subtle, but it makes the outfit more interesting to look at. Most of all, I love the color. Neutrals in the spring can be a really nice look if styled correctly, so don’t shy away from more subdued color schemes.
And of course, one more headband for the road. One day, you’ll see.
I hope some of these outfits provide you with some inspiration. This time at home can be dreary and if playing dress up would raise your spirits—by all means do it! I enjoyed putting these simple outfits together and I suggest you find something that makes you smile as well. I’m praying for you!
