Dom's Special Delectable Pasta
Ingredients You’ll Need
Salt
2 links of sausage (I used turkey, but any sausage will do)
Olive Oil
Basil
Paprika
1 packet of shredded Mozzarella (8oz)
1 packet of shredded Parmesan (8oz)
1 packet of sliced mushrooms (8oz)
3 garlic cloves
2 cups of half and half
Cayenne red pepper
1 box of fettuccine noodles (or any noodles you want)
20 shrimp (2-3 people) or 40 shrimp (4-5 people)
Put a pot of water to boil. This is the same pot you’ll make the whole dish in, so choose your size wisely. I used a pretty large pot because I made this for the family of 5.
Once your water begins to boil, snap your noodles in half and place them in the water.
While your noodles cook, devein your shrimp and place them on the side. You can also season them now, if you want. I wanted until they were in the skillet, but either works.
Chop up your garlic cloves and heat up a skillet with olive oil. Brown your garlic and allow the pan to get pretty hot.
Put your shrimp in the skillet with seasonings (if you haven’t yet). Allow the shrimp to turn pink. Cook for 1 min on both sides.
Tip: If you want to brown something, use paprika. You get the brown color without any extra taste.
Your shrimp should look like this. Once your shrimp is cooked, put the shrimp to the side.
Cut up your sausage and brown in the same skillet.
Set both aside together.
Once your noodles are done, put them to the side. Make sure they are pretty tender.
You can put your skillet away now. Now that we’ve drained the noodles, you can use the big pot for the rest of your cooking. Put a bit of olive oil in the pot with your mushrooms to sauté them. The mushrooms will start to release some juice.
When the mushrooms start to release their juices, pour your half and half in the pot. Turn up the heat and put the majority of both packets of cheese in the pot. Allow the cheese to melt.
Once the cheese melts, reduce your heat to a simmer. Put your seasonings in. I used quite a lot of basil, because I love the look of the green.
Dump the shrimp and sausage in the pasta sauce. Let everything cook together for 5 mins on low heat.
Top off the pasta with any remaining cheese. Add extra seasonings if you want. Continue to cook depending on what you want the sauce thickness to be. Voila! You’re done.
